If the team is playing well and giving everything to the cause then as we saw against Leicester the atmosphere and overall experience is better. Free beer would also help.

Significant digging down would also require a massive tanking box as you'd go beneath the water table. Talking a minimum of a season away.

as well as dimantling and extending the muti 100m roof I imagine

It alright, the radioactive waste is under the north stand, not the pitch.

Don't forget all the radio active sludge as well when digging down?? Don't want Brady to grow a third tit now do we??

Sorry but I disagree, the gaps are huge and retractable seating would make them less huge or vanish altogether. Clearly scaffold seats are adding to the issue. Not sure why you think that with modern engineering techniques properly fitted seating designed to fit in and around the upper tier would still leave 50ft gaps.

Because what we have now is EXACTLY the same as the fully designed one

they just have to move it differently

I think the lower tier you're seeing in your head has its back side sticking out beyond the turnstiles when fully retracted.

Re: Improving the match day experience and suggestions for the owners.
No matter what the seating there will always be gaps unless they a) demolish the upper tier and bring it closer to the pitch (not going to happen as that's basically demolishing the whole stadium) or b) dig down and completely redesign the bowl which constitutes the lower tier. Which may or may not have implications regarding contaminated ground.

Option b wouldn't happen unless athletics fucked off and the ground was safe to dig down on. However I'm not sure I see anyone oking the costs for that regardless.

Re: Improving the match day experience and suggestions for the owners.
Nym's right on this - as we debated endlessly for years, you cant get the rake much shallower than it is. There's no two ways about it; you cant just build seats either back into the gaps or forward towards the pitch without very significant structural work.

Soldo - I know but the talk was of permanent solutions. Let's be honest, nothing short of a rebuild is going to improve it and there is more chance of us making Champions League than that.

At what angle or RAKE would people need to sit at to fill the gaps, Brains?

The lower tier is quite shallow as it is.

See Road you cretin, Gavvy has AGAIN told you the gaps will always be there and were there by design all along.

Instead of putting words in his mouth and trying to align his posts with yours why don’t you actually read what he posts, you thick hysterical old Queen?

a. Have dog racing round the track an hour beforehand to keep us occupied.

b. Build a 'WH boozer' close to the ground so we can have an identity again.

ornchurch.... that might save money (for whoever then owns the stadium)... but it's still the same situation with the stadium... just probably not on breeze blocks... with plastic ties

Re: Improving the match day experience and suggestions for the owners.
yes Soldo the gaps will still be there regardless, and this was ALWAYS the plan. I cant really fathom how people can claim they were lied to about it as the plans were only public for three years before we moved in.

nevertheless there are better ways to use the gaps....not least the great fuck off mega sized Hooters paarrtay deck that i envisage will happen one day.

ornchurch ammer 1:58 Wed Nov 29
Re: Improving the match day experience and suggestions for the owners.
A permanent solution will hinge on whether they wish to continue with hosting an annual athletics event.

If they do then expect a permanent lower tier behind a running track as I can't see them forking out for a proper retractable system.
